John Rogers specializes in large-scale art commissions for private and public spaces. The works are colorful, contemporary, elegant sculptures that are attuned to the interior and exterior architecture as well as the environment in which they are sited. For over three decades, he has created works that include wall-reliefs, floors, gates, suspended, and freestanding sculptures at diverse sites across the United States. A trained ceramicist, Rogers is an expert in using metals, glass, ceramics, stone, cement, plastics, and light to make compelling, accessible works of art. Skillful at working with public committees, Rogers has successfully partnered with artists, architects, and engineers on commissions throughout the country.

Rogers' studio is on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon where he lives with his wife, Carol Sherman, a media producer.
